Super Heroes and Zombies are the winners. “The Wolverine” is most popular, with 51% of our panelists saying they will “Definitely” go see the movie. “Man of Steel” at 47% and “World War Z” at 42% came in at numbers 2 and 3, followed by “The Lone Ranger” (35%), “White House Down” (33%), “Despicable Me 2” (26%), and trailing the group, “Pacific Rim” with 16% “Definite” interest. Considering our sample demographics (i.e average age 41, and no one under age 18), ranking of worldwide grosses should closely parallel our results with one exception, “Despicable Me 2” – the only film on our list designed for kids as well as adults. As one of our panelists wrote on our Facebook Page – “My 9 year old cannot wait for "Despicable Me 2".
Perennially favorite actor Johnny Depp (“The Lone Ranger”) ranks number 1 on the movie star portion of the survey with 57% saying he is “One of My Favorites”. Brad Pitt (“World War Z”) at 50% ranks second. Hugh Jackman (“The Wolverine”) , and “Man of Steel” co-star Russell Crowe are tied for third most popular with a 42% rating. “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill (as Superman) has one of the lowest ”Favorite”scores (7%), no doubt because he is relatively unknown – 27% of our panelists have never heard of him!
